Campus Community Relations Committee Meeting 2.2.10

The meeting began with a report by Lisa Grelle and Greg Loeffler, who served as liaisons for the City Council of Columbia meeting on 2.1.10.  We then discussed the possibility of aiding Parking and Transportation in their biking safety initiative and fundraiser this fall.  One concern was the workload for the MSA senate and the level of student support.  Also, the members of CCRC set a tentative date for the Habitat for Humanity service project on March 13.  A bill discussing this project will be presented during the upcoming full-senate meeting.  Finally, we supported Bill 49-41.

CCRC 1/26/10

The meeting began with a discussion of campus liaisons and the assignment of meetings for committee members to attend. Members from CCRC will be attending the Parking and Transportation meetings, Bicycle Subcommittee meetings, PHA meetings, City Council meetings, and Chamber of Commerce Meetings. We are also looking to meet with MU Police. After that, we discussed the MSA service event and we decided that Habitat for Humanity would be a great thing for MSA to participate in. We hope to plan the service event for early March. Finally, we discussed the legislation. As a committee, CCRC is opposed to trayless dining after deliberation and hearing testimony from members who experienced the week of trayless dining. CCRC then approved the resolution addressing H1N1, the resolution to ensure safety for students, and the resolution in favor of creating a student friendly transit system from the University to Jefferson City.

Academic Affairs Committee Meeting 1.26.10

Meeting was called to order by AA Committee Chair Ian Krause

The meeting began with discussion of trayless dining and discussion of  Bill #49-37 A resolution in favor of creating a student friendly transit system from the university of MIssouri-Columbia to Jefferson City written by Committee Chair Ian Krause . Bill was moved to previous question and the committee is in favor. Bill #49-38 An act to establish an annotated bibliography in the MSA senate handbook written by Committee Chair Ian Krause, bill was moved to previous question and the committee is in favor. Bill #49-39 An act to establish the board of elections commissioners 2009 MSA senate handbook was discussed.

Academic Affairs is planning a meeting with Brenda Selman to discuss the option of having Honors Students be able register ahead of regular students in their same academic year. (Honors seniors before seniors, etc.) We will also be discussing smaller Academic questions we’ve been yearning to ask for the bast several weeks.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 by Ian F. Krause.
