Student Court Response: 4/11/08 4:46 p.m.

April 14, 2008 · Comments Off

Just to let you know, quorum was not met last night for the Court, therefore nothing the Court decided or talked about last night has any validity. When we were discussing the matter last night, out of the 4 members of the Court, 3 felt that the votes should not have been counted; however, since the results have already been announced, all of the “absentee” votes should be counted for this election. One member of the Court expressed her belief that none of the votes should count and are now void.

This was what our opinion was last night, please let me know if you have any questions of concern.

Thanks,

Jonathan Sandhu

The votes that were cast prior to 6 p.m. Monday night are going to be considered ineligible and void. Due to this decision, a Senator Run-Off Election in the College of Arts & Sciences will be held according to the MSA Student Senate Handbook as described in Chapter 5 (more…)

MSA Senate Election Update

March 21, 2008 · Comments Off

12:34 a.m.

I met tonight with the Board of Elections Commissioners, and they proposed three plans of further action. One of these was to release the results of all academic college elections that, after considering the three issues cited in the petition, they believe are not impacted to an extent that is statistically significant. Based on this assertion by the BEC and confirmation by MSA Adviser Farouk Aregbe, I have agreed to accept the pending certification of the following academic college elections: (more…)
